slog [sla:g]:

  • Verb - to work hard and steadily; to toil

  • Noun - a long period of hard, difficult, or tiring work

  • Synonyms: work, sweat, endeavor, strive, hustle

  • Sample sentences:

    • “Behind every win is a trail of tough days, long hours, and the steady slog that nobody talks about.”

    • “Greatness isn’t made in the spotlight, but in the steady slog when nobody else is grinding.”

SLog Score = S + M + P​

  • SLog Score approximates the total number of Hours Practiced​

  • S = Sport Specific Skills​

    • Core practice of the sport

    • All S hours are counted equally​

  • P = Physical Training

    • Default allowance: up to 30% of S hours​

    • Since some sports require more physical preparation, PT Contribution can be adjusted

  • M = Mental Preparation​

    • Capped at to 10% of S hours​

    • "M" prepares the mind, but does not replace practicing the skills
